The agreement

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Orange Lake, LLC, a limited liability company doing business as “Soundza” (throughout this Privacy Policy, “Soundza,” “the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to Orange Lake, LLC), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Soundza website, mobile applications, and related services that allow musicians and creators to upload, share, browse, license, and download loops, beats, sound effects, samples, and related content (collectively, the “Service”).

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Service.

01

Information we collect

We collect information in the following categories:

1.1 Information you provide to us

  • Account information: name, username, email address, password, and profile details (such as bio, profile photo, social links, and artist/producer name) when you register for an account.
  • Content you upload: audio files (loops, beats, samples, sound effects, stems), files related to the content (such as video, images, text, and other computer files), titles, tags, descriptions, artwork, and licensing terms you attach to content you upload for sharing, sale, or licensing.
  • Transaction information: billing name, billing address, and payment details when you purchase, sell, or license content. Full payment card details are collected and processed by our third-party payment processor(s) Stripe/Paypal and are not stored on our servers.
  • Payout information: information required to pay creators, such as bank account or payout account details, provided directly to our payment/payout processor.
  • Communications: messages, support requests, feedback, and other communications you send to us or to other users through the Service.
  • Other information you choose to provide, such as when you participate in surveys, contests, forums, or promotions.

1.2 Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages and screens viewed, content played, downloaded, uploaded, liked, or purchased, search queries, referring/exit pages, interaction timestamps, and other actions you take on the Service.
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, mobile network information, and crash/error logs.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: cookies, local storage, pixels, and SDKs used to recognize your browser or device, remember preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how the Service is used (see Section 6).
  • Approximate location: general location inferred from your IP address (we do not collect precise GPS location unless separately disclosed and consented to).
  • Bot detection: we use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect certain forms (such as account signup) from automated abuse. Turnstile may collect browser and interaction data to distinguish humans from bots without requiring a visible challenge. For details on how Cloudflare processes this data, see the Cloudflare Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

1.3 Information from third parties

  • If you register or log in using a third-party account (e.g., Google, Facebook, Apple), we may receive basic profile information from that provider, as permitted by your settings with that provider.
  • Information from payment processors confirming completed or failed transactions.
  • Information from analytics, fraud-prevention (including Cloudflare Turnstile), and advertising partners, where applicable.
02

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, improve and maintain the Service, including hosting, streaming, and enabling browsing, download or licensing of content.
  • Create and manage your account, and facilitate transactions between buyers, licensors, and creators.
  • Process payments, payouts, refunds, and related accounting/tax obligations.
  • Communicate with you, including transactional notices, customer support, and (with your consent or as permitted by law) marketing communications.
  • Personalize your experience, such as recommending content, sounds, or creators.
  • Monitor, analyze, and improve the Service, including troubleshooting and analytics.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, unauthorized use, copyright/intellectual property infringement, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Enforce content licensing terms attached to loops, beats, samples, and other uploaded content.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
03

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We may share information as follows:

  • With other users: profile information, uploaded content, and associated metadata (such as artist name and licensing terms) are visible to other users as part of the core functionality of a content-sharing marketplace.
  • Service providers: vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting, content delivery, payment processing, payout processing, analytics, customer support, and email delivery, under contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
  • Legal and safety reasons: to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or others, including responding to copyright/DMCA claims.
  • With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you and to which you consent.
  • Aggregated or de-identified data: we may share information that has been aggregated or de-identified such that it no longer identifies you.
04

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, which may include the right to:

  • Access, correct, or update your personal information (many fields can be updated directly in your account settings).
  • Request deletion of your account and associated personal information, subject to legal, tax, and legitimate business retention requirements.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Request a copy of your personal information in a portable format.
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or adjusting your account notification settings.

05

Content, licensing, and public visibility

Soundza is a platform for sharing and licensing audio and other content. When you upload content, certain information — including your artist/username, content titles, descriptions, and applicable licensing terms — is intended to be visible to other users or the public, as controlled by the visibility and licensing settings you select. You are responsible for ensuring you have the necessary rights to upload and share any content, and for understanding that content shared publicly may be accessed, downloaded, or used by others in accordance with the license terms you select.

06

Cookies and similar technologies

We and our service providers use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in and remember your preferences.
  • Understand how users interact with the Service (analytics).
  • Support core functionality such as the audio player and shopping cart/checkout.
  • Possibly support advertising or retargeting.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where required by law, through a cookie consent banner or preference center on the Service. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.

07

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations (including tax, accounting, and licensing-dispute recordkeeping), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Uploaded content and associated licensing records may be retained even after account deletion to the extent necessary to honor licenses already granted to other users, unless otherwise required by law.

08

Data security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09

International data transfers

We may store and process information in countries other than the one in which you reside. Where required by law, we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers (such as standard contractual clauses).

10

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete it.

11

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on the Service, updating the “Effective Date” above, and, where required by law, providing additional notice (such as email notification). Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
